Breaking Chains... Building Hope!
It's more than a name, it's an action!
It's more than a name, it's an action!
To provide a culturally responsive, whole health approach that promotes social- emotional wellness, and prevents mental and behavioral health challenges that present roadblocks to success.
To empower those, we serve to become the best version of themselves by providing mental health services that promote self- actualization and equip them with the tools to make better decisions, build positive relationships, and set and achieve favorable life goals.
Through our mission we break chains (cycles) of destructive behavior, situations and consequences, and build hope and self-awareness that transforms lives.
Breaking Chains Inc (BCI) is a non-profit organization located in Baltimore City. We provide mental and behavioral health services for children and adults throughout the state and country. BCI is nationally accredited through CARF and licensed through the Behavior Health Administration of Maryland. We started by addressing the needs of our community by providing support and opportunities that cultivate success, and we continue to offer volunteer and community service opportunities. Breaking Chains offers a community- based program that provides services to youth and adults in underserved communities and systems of Maryland. We pride ourselves in promoting mental health awareness in environments that often overlook the importance of mental health interventions needed for individuals to achieve positive outcomes in all areas of their lives. We invest many of our efforts in developing mental well- being in athletes, reducing recidivism in youth and adults, improving employee mental health, and cultivating talents and skills in individuals in order for them to visualize a brighter path for their future.
Breaking Chains partners with many scholastic and amateur union team organizations to ensure athletes have notable and untainted success at all levels of their career. Our strategy is to Prevent, Educate and Intervene using evidence- based techniques. Our services bring awareness to mental health in these often-uncharted spaces and support athletes in overcoming mental health challenges that can negatively impact their performance and goals. Our therapeutic and confidential approach attracts participants who are seeking answers for their emotions and need guidance in their decision making.
We've partnered with University of Pittsburgh 2023 commit, Carlton "Lil Bub" Carrington, initiating the conversation on mental health with his peers.
Get into the conversation. What's on your mind? We will be hosting a weekly mental health conversation for all athletes.
